What do you do for a living?

I am the owner of three business that I absolutely love spending time working with and promoting, all under the trade name Aj Inc.:

I really love writing about things that I care about so I started - Mentally Chill - in the hopes to help the people who are going through the same things that I have gone through in my past.  My own personal growth has been the natural consequence of all the trials that I have survived, but my hope now is to let others benefit from that experience and the wisdom it has brought me.

Do you have a collage degree?

Yes, but its not really worth hanging on my wall!  I actually have obtained an Associates Degree in the medical field but I have never used it professionally in any way.  Life experience has been my greatest teacher and from an early age I have paid close attention to the world around me and have learned a lot of its dirty little secrets!  I never speak on a subject unless I have personal experience and knowledge in that area.

What are your religious beliefs?

That is a wonderful question!  In fact, I volunteer a large amount of my personal time in a world-wide educational work speaking to people and teaching about my personal beliefs.  However, this is not the platform in which I do this work.  The foremost reason I choose not to share my personal religious views here, is because this BLOG is a source of income for my family and I do NOT support anyone making a profit from religion- it seriously makes me MAD! (Sorry if i offended all you paid clergy members, but you asked! lol)

The short answer is -  I do not discuss religion here, drop me a personal email and we can discuss it, if I have time to get to it!

What are your political views?

Unfortunately, politics and religion (now days) go hand in hand, so my answer is the same as the previous question - I do not discuss politics here!

My personal stance on politics is neutral, I never get involved.  I was once told “If you don’t vote then do not complain about the government” and my answer is... “Agreed!”.  Not only will I not complain, but I will express my utmost appreciation for all that the government does do for us, and because of my neutral stance, my hands will be completely free of blood when the next bomb drops!

Where do you get ideas to write about?

I only write about things that I know about and love, right now its fairly isolated to: Marriage, Parenting (with a central focus on step-parenting), and Mental illness.  These are the things that my family faces every day, and so... I write!

Can you give me some personal advise?

I really wish that I could take the time to speak to people one-on-one and give them personal advise because I really do love to help people.  The practicality of that is very minimal, at least until that UPS truck shows up with the clones that I ordered of myself.  

Honestly, the only reason that I would ever be able to find a solution for your problem is if I had already been through a similar situation and while experiencing the difficulty of navigating through that situation had learned from it in some way - at least enough to finally close the gap (so-to-speak) and stop the negative actions in the situation.  Now if I have been through a similar situation, I may know of a few short-cuts to a solution, but that's why I am writing this BLOG, to share a few short-cuts!   Basically, If you view the big problems in your life simply as an opportunity for self-growth and approach it with that mindset, then that's exactly what you will get from experiencing the problem and finding a solution on your own.  No matter how large it is, you will be a better person for bravely facing it and moving forward.  Do ask for advise from people you trust but in the end, coming to your own conclusion brings the most personal gain.

NOTE:  I am NOT speaking in regards to mental illness.  Often times it takes advise and treatment from a skilled therapist and/or medication to help bring balance to a mental illness.  Do not feel ashamed for seeking therapy, any more than a cancer patient should be about seeking chemotherapy!

I try to respond to each message, but there are so many that I just can’t get through them all sometimes.  I do keep them with the hopes to read each one! - Thank you all for being so great!
